3D Fostering

3D Fostering is a brand new project in Salford's fostering service. It aims to provide short term foster placements to young people with complex needs between the ages of 10 and 16. The 3D foster carers will receive a generous fee starting from £22,022 plus 24/7 support.

The young people will display some difficulties, often linked to previous earlier experiences. These could include refusing to go to school, running away or drug and alcohol misuse. The advantage of 3D Fostering is that the support team is made up of various experts to ensure you get the best advice and guidance possible. This includes a teacher and a psychologist who will work around all aspects of a young person's life to try and turn their behaviour around. There is also a skills trainer who will take the young person out and encourage them to enjoy new hobbies and learn new skills.

As a 3D foster carer you need a commitment to improving the lives of young people and a genuine interest in caring for them. It is an opportunity to have a huge impact on a young person, who may feel they have no chances left for them. Other treatment foster carers feel they have been an integral part in turning a young person's life around, by helping them to improve their behaviour and thus preparing them for a permanent foster placement, or return home. In return you will receive a huge amount of support from a dedicated team of professionals, guiding you every step of the way. You will also receive regular respite and paid holidays as we think it is important for you to have regular breaks to do the job well!
