A Young Lady all Dressed up in Satin and Lace
Posted by: R. David on 05/07/2008 at 04:44
I see her here in the Star Chamber on the trimwork along the wall. She has long flowing hair, perhaps braided in sections, and she appears to be wearing a long white satin gown. She must be dresseed up for some important occasion. I think that she has her hands on her hips, Wonderfully elegant, I would say.

Let's not forget him even for a moment, as he gives us enlightenment into the spiritual domain. For through that door we must enter in due time.

Yes, perhaps she is from that time, Gerry. or late Victorian age. She does seem to have all of the social graces judging by her poise and posture. It is so amazing to see the ladies and gents from this time period gracing the Hall big smile

I think she is a young debutante, just going to her coming out party, the first party of a future socialite. She is excited, but shy, and she will need all of her training in social graces. What a wonderful time for her....and how romantic.

Brilliant cap RDavid, as usual. I see your young girl and those look like ringlettes, pinned up and hanging down. Beautiful gown as well...there appears to be someone peering over her right shoulder that's why she has her head turned that way. Again brilliant cap and good eye to boot.... angel

Yes, she does seem to be full of a youthful energy with an eagerness to advance her talents, wit, and charm. She seems to have had everything going her way. I wonder what happened to cause her passing in the prime of her life?

I also see many others with her, spirittalker. It's almost like another "ghostband". It seems like some ghosts do tend to cluster together, perhaps by association from a common experience in the past.

A lot of people died in those days as a result of medical attention. Just think.....when someone fainted, they used to bleed them to rid their bodies of 'bad vapours'. No wonder they took ill and died....not to mention the leeches....I would have died of fright.

Yes, Westie, the medical practices were quite bizarre in those days. I remember visiting some frontier towns from the gold rush era in California and Nevada, and there were some restored doctors "offices", where they had the jars that contained leeches, and the practise of bleeding was described. Here is a web page on the subject of bleeding: The Practice of Bleeding
