A Lovely Girl Dressed in a White Gown in SC
Posted by: R. David on 12/07/2008 at 05:19
I can see this lovely girl dressed in a gown. She has her head turned back as she walks towards the bed, and she seems to be raising her long gown as she walks.

Let's not forget him even for a moment, as he gives us enlightenment into the spiritual domain. For through that door we must enter in due time.

She's winking at us over her shoulder, why she's flirting with us, or is it with your RDavid! lol

I have capped three different girls in this same area of the SC in the last two weeks or so. Here they are, to make a comparison between their appearance:
The Young Lady all dressed in satin and lace, from July 5th BTW: AMAZING HAIR!

P.S. After closer examination, I think that the July12th girl may be tha same as the July 21st girl, they look very similar

I noticed that this girl was wearing a high ruffed collar. I found that such collars were worn in the 17th century.

Ruff (clothing)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ruff of c. 1575. Detail from the Darnley Portrait of Elizabeth I.
Dutchwoman's ruff of 1630. Detail from Family Making Music by Jan Miense Molenaer.A ruff is an item of clothing worn in Western Europe from the mid-sixteenth century to the mid-seventeenth century.

The ruff evolved from the small fabric ruffle at the drawstring neck of the shirt or chemise. They served as changeable pieces of cloth that could themselves be laundered while keeping the wearer's doublet from becoming soiled at the neckline.

The discovery of starch allowed ruffs to be made wider without losing their shape. Later ruffs were separate garments that could be washed, starched, and set into elaborate figure-of-eight folds by the use of heated cone-shaped goffering irons.

At their most extreme, ruffs were a foot or more wide; these cartwheel ruffs such as the one in the portrait to the right required a wire frame called a supportasse or underpropper to hold them at the fashionable angle.

Thanks, sam. I think that this is one of my best finds yet in the SC. I think that there are at least three different girls in these caps, as they all look different. From past experience, I think that there are several girl spirits that cluster together in the SC, a band of girls. They seem to enjoy showing off their latest fasions. I think that the dresses that they are wearing are from the late 18th century. perhaps the time period of 1780 to 1799? big smile
